Well, much to my surprise I am starting a job tomorrow morning. It all fell into my lap this last week …
I’ll be working at a kindergarten called Sewoon (Say-oon) that is located 4 blocks from our apartment. I will be part-time (M-F 9:00am-12:30pm). They have English immersion kindergarten and Korean kindergarten for 3, 4 and 5-year-olds. I will be teaching a class of 4-year-olds.
I will be working with a Korean teacher, though it will be my show since they are supposed to be speaking English all morning. There is a strict curriculum that I will follow (which ALL South Korean English-immersion kindergartens everywhere follow … I am serious when I say ALL OF THEM). The curriculum will most likely prove to not be what I would do. BUT, regardless of that, I am excited to get a chance to work with this age again. I expect to be really challenged but really happy.
Sewoon is quite large … it has 3 buildings in all.
This is the main building. It holds classrooms, offices, and the kitchen.
This building has the music classrooms and regular classrooms
I will be working in this building (same as above).
This building is for the humanities: art and cooking.
Congratulations! Looks like a great facility. I'm sure they'll love you!!
ReplyDeleteInteresting, isn't it? Wonder what new life things are around the corner? I love you!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS JANAE! I am thinking that really I should be saying this to all those little 4 year olds who get to hang out with you every day. They are so blessed! Have fun playing with the children! We love you.
ReplyDeleteIf you need any pointers, just let me know! I get to hang out with kiddos like that all day, and I love it! Congratulations :)
