Ode to the Donut

In this land of rice

We’ve met many a new flavor

Our palates have declared ‘very nice!’

Our stomachs are much braver

Come Saturday morn’

The week has passed in a flurry

We rest our body and refresh our gut

Our weekend is born

We aren’t in a hurry

Except to find our doughnut.
