Many restaurants have equipped each table with a call button.
Blue button (left) – Soju
Yellow Button – Beer
Red Button – page the server
Mark and I thought it was great that each type of alcohol had its own button, while everything else was clumped together.
There are 3 main beers manufactured in Korea – OB, Cass, Hite. All of them are light and not worth very much (in our spoiled, live in the Northwest with the best microbreweries, opinion). Soju is a liquor made from fermented rice, it is 40 proof. Once again, not all that great.
These two alcohols are so cheap (32oz beer or 12oz Soju), coming in it about 75 cents a bottle. To say the least, the liquor and beer flows quite free in this country, with such ridiculously low prices.
Interestingly, they have a zero tolerance policy for driving under the influence of alcohol.
