It was Spring all of a sudden today. The weather warmed up, the buds popped out, and I can already tell it is going to be a hot summer!
I went for a walk around the Pungam Reservoir and there were some wonderful signs of life, movement, rebuilding, and color.
Small streams of water are flowing into the Reservoir from the city’s drain system. Algae has formed in them: dancing, swirling and gathering as they flow along. I was enthralled by the beauty, movement, and life found in the trickling mini-streams.
There is a lot of construction underway at the Reservoir. They are building more pathways around the water. This is quite a process; lots of dirt, lots of rocks, and lots of heavy machinery.
These dump trucks have 16 wheels – one solid rectangular machine! They have to forge through a lot of dirt and mud. In an effort to keep them from sinking into the mud, a lot of rocks have to be laid on the pathway for the truck (picture below).
The sun danced on the water.
Beautiful green gardens that are tended so faithfully and trees in bloom!

ReplyDeleteIt seems that nature is integrated into the citys there much more than in America. I love all the gardens scatterd about the city. Back in Merced the Hmong community created a garden on some unused city land. Bend would be great for something like that.
